With on-track business continuing to improve, Remington Park in Oklahoma is trying to further engage its online audience.

Remington, which races Mondays at 6:30 p.m. CDT for the remainder of a meet that extends through Dec. 14, has partnered with HorseplayerPRO.com to host a live internet discussion during Monday racing programs. Fans and horseplayers can provide their own commentary on what they are watching via simulcast at Remington and communicate directly with key management personnel, track officials said.

The online forums will be facilitated by Jeremy Plonk of HorseplayerPRO.com. Plonk is a lifelong horseplayer, sports fan, and former member of the Remington communications and marketing department.

“HorseplayerPRO.com firmly believes that the best way to develop new fans to horse racing is to have a buddy alongside,” Plonk said in a statement. “But racetracks can’t provide 500 mentors. Through the power of the Internet and our successful past chat forums that have gathered hundreds for events like the Kentucky Derby, Preakness, and Arlington Million, we know that racing fans embrace the concept of someone helping them through the process.

“Our hat is off to Remington Park for being the first track in America to join us in taking the at-home wagering experience and personalizing it.”

Remington track announcer Dale Day will join Plonk in the chat forums, live from the booth. More information is available at www.horseplayerpro.com and www.remingtonpark.com.
