(Edited NTRA release)
The ninth annual National Thoroughbred Racing Association Charities & Kentucky Derby Museum Charity Golf Classic will take place at Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Ky., on Monday, Oct. 5. Net proceeds from the event will support NTRA Charities, along with the Kentucky Derby Museum Klein Family Learning Center.
Named one of the top three new private golf courses in the U.S. in 1987, the first year it was eligible, Valhalla Golf Club remains the No. 1-ranked course in Kentucky and one of "America's 100 Greatest Courses", according to Golf Digest (2005). Valhalla played host to the 1996 and 2000 PGA Championships, and the 2008 Ryder Cup.
The cost is $4,000 for a team of four or $1,000 for single players and includes golf, cart, use of practice range, box lunch during play, cocktail reception, awards and player gifts. There will also be separate putting, straight-drive, closest-to-pin, on-the-green and trivia contests. Tee time on October 5 will be 12:00 p.m.
