Wando, Canada’s 2003 Horse of the Year and Triple Crown, sired his first winner when his son D’s Wando won Aug. 16 at Woodbine after placing in his two previous starts. Bred in Ontario, Canada, by Gustav Schickedanz, D’s Wando captured the seven-furlong race by 1 1/4 lengths in 1:23.99 for D’s Stable, Riviera Racing Stable, and Yorktech Racing Stable.
D’s Wando is out of multiple stakes winner Silver Taler (by Bold Ruckus).
Wando (Langfuhr —Kathie’s Colleen, by Woodman) stands at William S. Farish’s Lane’s End Farm near Versailles, Ky. His 2009 fee was $5,000.
