Laffit Pincay Jr.'s Father Dies

The father of Hall of Fame jockey Laffit Pincay Jr. died Aug. 11 in Venezuela.

A successful Venezuela jockey, Laffit Pincay Sr. won a number of important stakes, including the Clasico Simon Bolivar.

Pincay also rode in the United States. He was aboard Primordial II when that Argentine-bred won the 1964 Display Handicap at Aqueduct. He also finished sixth on Primordial II in that year’s Washington, D.C., International at Laurel.

Pincay’s survivors include his son and the latter’s family.
