Edited press release

Thoroughbred owner-breeder Satish Sanan was appointed to the National Thoroughbred Racing Association board to represent Breeders’ Cup. Ltd., effective as of the next NTRA board of directors meeting in September in Florence, Ky. Sanan replaces G. Watts Humphrey.

"We are deeply appreciative of Watts’ service to the NTRA and the industry as a whole," said Alex Waldrop, president and CEO of the NTRA. "We look forward to working with Satish, who will bring a great deal of insight and enthusiasm to the Board."

Sanan and his wife, Anne, own Padua Stables, which has campaigned multiple stakes winners, including 2002 champion 2-year-old Vindication. Padua also was a part owner of multiple Horse of the Year Curlin before selling its interest following the colt’s victory in the 2007 Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I).
