Saratoga sale average and median price up

The average and the median price the first day at the Fasig-Tipton Saratoga selected yearling sale was up from last year’s comparable session. Seventy-six horses sold Aug. 10 for a total of $25,470,00. Last year, 60 horses sold for $18,160,000.

This year’s average, $335,132, was up 10.7% from last year’s average of $302,667, The median price, $250,000, advanced 6.4% over last year’s median price of $235,000.

Four yearlings commanded $1 million or more, including three by Bernardini  , compared to two at last year’s session.
