Sheltowee Farm owner Mike Evans said Aug. 4 his Paris, Ky.-based boarding and sales prep operation has entered into a strategic alliance with Robert N. Clay’s Three Chimneys Farm in Midway, Ky.

As part of the arrangement, Sheltowee Farm will expand to have a new boarding, sales prep, quarantine, and rehabilitation facility in Woodford County adjacent to Three Chimneys Farm. It will be called Sheltowee Woodford.

Evans will oversee day-to-day operations at both Sheltowee’s Bourbon County and Woodford County divisions.

“I wanted to open a Sheltowee Division in Woodford County and was looking for land, infrastructure, and office support in Woodford County,” Evans said. “My alliance with Three Chimneys allows me to do that. Robert, Case (Clay), and the rest of the team at Three Chimneys share similar values as my staff and me, and I’m very much looking forward to the relationship.”

Sheltowee Woodford is located at the former Three Chimneys Farm Tracewood division off of Hedden Road.

“We see working with Mike as a key opportunity for us to align ourselves with a very talented and well-respected horseman, while also increasing our business and bandwidth without increasing the size of our staff,” Three Chimneys president Case Clay said.
