California owner Madeline Auerbach announced a new racing venture in which she is syndicating offspring by major California stallion Unusual Heat. Six California-bred 2-year-olds, full siblings to graded stakes winners Golden Doc A, Tucked Away, Lethal Heat, Lightmyfirebaby, and Bel Air Sizzle, are included in the offering.

Auerbach, who will retain an ownership interest in the venture, will oversee training and racing decisions of the runners. Barry Abrams, who conditioned Unusual Heat and many of his progeny, will train all the 2-year-olds. Little Red Feather Racing (Bill Koch, managing partner) will manage marketing and client relations for the group.

“Because of the new California-bred incentive program, all of these 2-year-olds have an exceptional chance to succeed.” Koch said.

Nineteen-year-old Unusual Heat (Nureyev--Rossard, by Glacial) has sired 22 stakes winners. He stands at Old English Rancho near Sanger, Calif.
