(Edited Fasig-Tipton press release)
Fasig-Tipton’s Texas division has cataloged 370 horses for its yearling sale. The number is down 26.9% from last year’s total of 506, and the auction’s length has been reduced from two days to one. The sale is scheduled for Aug. 31 at Lone Star Park, beginning at 10 a.m. (CDT).
“Our buyers and consignors often travel long distances in this part of the world to do business and, while the one-day format means a long day, it will also be productive and, hopefully, more convenient,” said Tim Boyce, Fasig-Tipton’s Texas director of sales. “We have a diverse catalog, with Texas-breds and Louisiana-breds making up the majority of our offerings. Additionally, there are 65 sires whose offspring were selected for our recent national (select) yearling sale in Kentucky. There’s some real quality in both conformation and pedigrees.”
