Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) winner Spinning World was represented by his first stakes winner Sunday, when his 2-year-old son Chan Chan won the listed Oppenheim-Rennen at Cologne. The American-bred colt completed the 6 1/2-furlong race in 1:19.26 on good turf at the German track, finishing a head in front of Irish-bred Medina.

Chan Chan is owned by Baron Georg von Ulmann and is the first foal out of the Capote mare Candy Charm. With the win, the Peter Schiergen-trained Chan Chan remains undefeated from two starts, having also won a maiden race at just under six furlongs.

Spinning World stands at Ashford Stud in Kentucky during the North American breeding season and will stand at Coolmore Australia for the upcoming Southern Hemisphere season. Spinning World (Nureyev--Imperfect Circle, by Riverman) currently ranks 32nd among first crop sires.
