Habayeb, by Storm Cat, was represented by his first winner and first stakes winner in the same race. His son Drummond Island captured the Hoover Stakes at River Downs. A homebred for Ziba F. Graham, Drummond Island won the July 12 stakes by a length, running the 5 1/2 furlongs in 1:06.

An Ohio-bred, Drummond Island is out of the stakes-placed Pioneering mare Cait.
Habayeb, out of the Gone West mare Gone to Venus, stands at Kimpton E. Williams’ Fair Winds Farm near Waynesville, Ohio. His 2009 fee was private.
