One broodmare died in a July 15 fire that destroyed the primary barn at Double D Farm in northeastern Ohio, the Cleveland Plain Dealer reported.

Double D Farm is where Ohio-bred Harlan’s Holiday was foaled and raised. Harlan's Holiday now stands stud in Kentucky.

More than 60 horses were unharmed in the blaze, Ohio-based trainer Jevon Crumley told the Plain Dealer. The farm is owned by Carl Ackerman and Crumley’s mother-in-law, Carole Hassell.

Crumley told the newspaper the broodmare that died was Agacerie, a multiple stakes winner that had eight foals.
