Hollywood Park issued a statement July 14 saying that track announcer Vic Stauffer, who was hospitalized July 11 with a “mini stroke,” will return to the announcer's stand for the final four day's of the spring-summer meet.
Stauffer, also the agent for leading jockey Joel Rosario, missed Sunday's program but will return for the Thursday through Sunday race cards. Stauffer, 50, has been the track announcer at Hollywood Park since 2001.
“I am absolutely overwhelmed by the outpouring of well wishes,” Stauffer said. “I know that I am going to feel better when I’m doing what I enjoy most, and that is calling the races.”
