State City Sires First Winner

Dubai champion State City, who stands at Doug Arnold’s Buck Pond Farm near Lexington, was represented by his first winner when his son Green N Goldie won July 2 at Churchill Downs. Campaigned by 23 Red Stable, Green N Goldie won the 5 1/2-furlong race by three-quarters of a length in 1:06.95.

Bred in Kentucky by Constancia Farm, R-Squared Stables, and Buck Pond, Green N Goldie is the third winner from three foals of racing age from the winning Gilded Time mare Time to Glitter. 

The day after Green N Goldie’s victory, State City came up with his next winner. Rocketman Rob, who races for Tucci Stables, won a 4 1/2-furlongs race by two lengths in :52.21 at Woodbine. 

Bred in Kentucky by E.H. Beau Lane III, Rocketman Rob is a half-brother to four winners, including stakes-placed Irish Fantasy. His dam, Irish Starlet (by Irish River), is a half-sister to five stakes winners.

Winner of the 2003 Dubai Golden Shaheen (UAE-I) his championship season, State City (Carson City--Wajna, by Nureyev) stands at Buck Pond for $5,000.
