Preakness Stakes (gr. I) winner Red Bullet returns to the track Saturday at Saratoga Race Course in a $55,000 allowance race, the ninth race on the 10-race card.
The Frank Stronach-owned Red Bullet, who will carry 118 pounds and be ridden by Hall of Fame jockey Jerry Bailey, had been sidelined since September after fracturing a shin. Red Bullet has been resting at Stronach's Adena Springs South near Ocala, Fla.
In his last start, more than a year ago, Red Bullet finished 4 3/4 lengths behind Albert the Great and Red Bullet in the grade II Dwyer Stakes at Belmont. He has a career record of four wins from six starts, including his Preakness and Gotham Stakes (gr. III) wins.
In the allowance, Red Bullet will face, among others top weight Panner at 120, ridden by Javier Castellano, and Valiant Halory, who will carry 116 under Jorge Chavez.
