Singing Vicar is Colorado Horse of the Year The Colorado Thoroughbred Breeders Association named Singing Vicar its 2008 Horse of the Year at Arapahoe Park in Aurora, Colo. June 12. Owned and bred by Willard Burbach of Greeley, who was named Colorado breeder of the year by earnings ($230,361), Singing Vicar's 2008 racetrack earnings were $53,998. A son of Vicar, Singing Vicar also took 2008 champion 3-year-old colt/gelding honors. The Colorado sire of the year is Oliver's Twist, by Horatius, with $158,824 in 2008 progeny earnings, standing at Linda Wood's Menoken Farms near Montrose, Colo.
