Grade I winner Eddington came through with his first winner when his son Silenceofthewind won June 25 at Newcastle in England. A $310,000 Keeneland September sale yearling, Silenceofthewind completed the six furlongs in 1:13.77 to win for owners Mogeely Stud and Mrs. Maura Gittins.
Bred in Kentucky by Lavin Bloodstock and Brereton C. Jones, Silenceofthewind is the third winner from three foals of racing age from the winning Eltish mare Betty’s Solutions. The mare’s first foal, Francesca d’Gorgio, is stakes-placed.
Winner of the Pimlico Special Handicap (gr. I) and third in the Preakness Stakes (gr. I), Eddington (Unbridled--Fashion Star, by Chief’s Crown) stands for $15,000 at the Hancock family’s Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky.
