Saratoga's Test Stakes (gr. I), a $250,000 seven-furlong race for 3-year-old fillies, is this week's stop on "The Road to the World Thoroughbred Championships," the three-month racing series airing on the ESPN networks.
The race is expected to attract Xtra Heat, currently second in the Breeders' Cup Distaff division points standings and gunning for a $250,000 bonus tied to her victory in the Stonerside Beaumont Stakes (gt. II) this spring at Keeneland. The race will be telecast on tape delay Saturday, July 28 on ESPN2 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. (EDT).
Also to air on tape delay will be the King George VI and Queen Elizabeth Diamond Stakes (Eng-I) from Ascot. Part of the Emirates World Series, it is expected to feature a showdown between European stars Galileo, winner of the Epsom (Eng-I) and Irish (Ire-I) Derbys, and Fantastic Light, last year's Emirates World Series Champion.
