Fool the Experts, one of Arizona’s best stallions for a number of years, was euthanized several months ago because of complications from old age. The 26-year-old, Arizona-bred stallion stood at Richard Owens’ Triple AAA Ranch near Glendale, Ariz.

Bred and raced by Owens and his late wife, Ann, in the Triple AAA name, Fool the Experts won his first four starts, including the 1985 Juvenile Stakes (gr. III) at Ark-Sar-Ben. Later in his career, he experienced another four-race win streak.

Fool the Experts (Crafty Drone--Slide Fastener, by Zip Pocket) captured four other stakes and set a course record at Turf Paradise. He retired with 10 wins from 21 races and earnings of $151,200.

Fool the Experts sired 27 stakes horses, including G Malleah, who won the 1996 Phoenix Gold Cup Handicap (gr. III) and a dozen other stakes. Fool the Experts is represented by other added-money winners such as Hugafool, Fool’s Mate, and Monrow.
