Irish champion Powerscourtsired his first winner when his daughter Termagant won June 11 at Leopardstown in Ireland. Making her first start, Termagant came from behind to win the seven-furlong race in 1:27.40 for Mrs. Kevin Prendergast.
Bred in Ireland by Old Carhue Stud, Termagant is the second winner from two foals of racing age from the Selkirk mare Rock Salt, who is a full sister to graded/group winner Kirkwall.
Bred in Great Britain and winner of the 2005 Arlington Million Stakes (gr. IT), Powerscourt (Sadler's Wells--Rainbow Lake, by Rainbow Quest) stands for $7,500 at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky.
