Macho Uno returns to the races Wednesday at Saratoga.
The return to competition of 2000 champion 2-year-old Macho Uno and the grade II Schuylerville for juvenile fillies highlight Wednesday's opening-day card at historic Saratoga Racecourse in upstate New York.
Macho Uno, a son of Holy Bull whose three wins from four starts earned him an Eclipse Award, has drawn post position 1 in the eighth race, a $47,000 conditioned allowance test for 3-year-olds and up. Macho Uno, who will be ridden by Jerry Bailey for trainer Joe Orseno, will carry 116 pounds as he faces eight other horses in the seven-furlong race.
The race that follows Macho Uno's return is the Schuylerville, which will be contested by eight 2-year-old fillies. The field for the six furlong race with a $100,000-added purse is:
1--Touch Love, 119, Jorge Chavez
