Grade I winner Kela was represented by his first winner when his daughter Our Tekela Rose won May 24 at Arlington Park in her initial start. Our Tekela Rose captured the 4 1/2-furlong race by a length in :53.25 for GTS Racing.

Bred in Kentucky by Shadowfax Stables, Our Tekela Rose is the second foal from the winning Summer Squall mare Storming Way.

Winner of the 2004 Bing Crosby Breeders’ Cup Handicap (gr. I), Kela (Numerous—Bolshoi Comedy, by Sovereign Dancer) stands for $7,500 at Margaux Farm near Midway, Ky. The farm is owned by Steve Johnson, Dr. Ira Mersack, and Dr. Joe Fowler Jr.
