Jiosa Jazz, Johannesburg Colt Work Fast

A Read  the Footnotes–Herat’s Goldengirl colt named Jiosa Jazz and a Johannesburg--Kitty Carson colt tied for the fastest quarter-mile work May 14 during the second and final session of the under tack show for the Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale of 2-year-olds in training. Both juveniles covered the distance in :21 4/5 over the track at the Maryland State Fairgrounds in Timonium, Md.

Jiosa Jazz is consigned by Sequel Bloodstock, agent, and the Johannesburg colt is consigned by DSB Stable, agent.

Seven horses each breezed an eighth of a mile in :10 2/5, which was the quickest time for the distance. They included a Wildcat Heir  –Exclusive Emotion filly named Emotional Heiress, consigned by Leprechaun Racing, agent; a Songandaprayer  –French Line colt, consigned by Nick de Meric, agent; a Seeking the Gold–Frenchglen filly named Glen Arms, consigned by King’s Equine, agent; and a More Than Ready  – Grand Gala colt named Party Goer, consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent. The others were a Salt Lake– Harbor Princess filly, consigned by Rod McVey, agent; a Wildcat Heir–One to Five filly, consigned by Journeyman Bloodstock, agent; and a Johannesburg–Princess Lanique filly, consigned by Eisaman Equine, agent.

A Ghostzapper  –Madame Pietra filly posted the fastest time of :33 4/5 at three furlongs. She is consigned by Leprechaun Racing, agent.

The Fasig-Tipton Midlantic juvenile auction is scheduled for May 18 and 19, with each session beginning at 10 a.m. (EDT).
