Artax to Stand in Brazil

Artax, champion sprinter of 1999, will stand the Southern Hemisphere breeding season at Dr. Adriano Quadros’ Haras Henrique Waihrich in Brazil as part of a three-year lease agreement.

Fourteen-year-old Artax (Marquetry--Raging Apalachee, by Apalachee) stands at Diamond G Ranch near Edmond, Okla. His 17 stakes horses included grade I winner Friendly Michelle and grade II winner Diabolical  . Artax’s runners have earned $11.7 million.

Artax is expected to cover more than 100 broodmares at the Brazilian farm this year.
