Circle E Racing’s Mr. Sidney  , winner of the Maker’s Mark Mile (gr. IT), will make his next start in the Shadwell Metropolitan Handicap (gr. I) May 25, owner Lee Einsidler said May 11.

The 5-year-old son of Storm Cat, out of Tomisue’s Delight, a $3.9 million yearling purchase, has made eight starts in his career, winning four, with a second and a third.

The decision was finalized after Mr. Sidney worked a half mile in :47 4/5 on dirt at Belmont May 11 under regular rider Kent Desormeaux, galloping out in :59 and change and pulling up six furlongs in 1:14.

“He did it under wraps in company,” Einsidler said. “Kent said he went fantastic and handled the dirt great.”

Einsidler said the decision to run in the Met Mile was made by trainer Bill Mott.

“Bill said there’s no risk involved; he’s a grade I winner on grass and there are more grade Is in his future,” Einsidler said. “He said it’s time to stamp him as a stallion prospect.”
