Tranquility Lake The One To Beat in Ramona

Multiple graded-stakes winner Tranquility Lake will be the one to beat when the gates spring open for Saturday's 44th edition of the grade I, $400,000 Ramona Handicap at 1 1/8 miles on Del Mar's Jimmy Durante Turf Course.
Tranquility Lake, who will carry the high weight of 123 pounds is owned by Mr. and Mrs. Martin J. Wygod and trained by Julio Canani, will be spotting her rivals from eight to 11 pounds for the race. The 6-year-old Happyanunoit, trained by Robert Frankel, had been assigned 121 pounds but was not entered because of a reported minor problem.
Others to watch are the Ron McAnnally-trainee Beautiful Noise, owned by Janis R. Whitham and Bobby Frankel trainee, High Walden, owned by Juddmonte Farms, shares the field's next high weight of 113 pounds with Janet, owned by Jed Cohen's Red Baron's Barn and trained by Darrell Vienna.
The field for the grade I Ramona consist of: Beautiful Noise, (Laffit Pincay, Jr.); Janet, (David Flores); Minor Details, (Victor Espinoza); Tranquility Lake, (Eddie Delahoussaye); High Walden, (Alex Solis); Timi, (Gary Stevens).
