With the 2001 Keeneland summer sale in the history books, the yearling auction scene shifts cross-town today to Fasig-Tipton Kentucky, which has cataloged 427 yearlings for its Selected Summer Yearling Sale. The auction in Lexington, Ky. begins at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday, July 18-19.

FTK's sale begins with 164 yearlings cataloged under the New Sire Showcase portion of the auction, with offspring of first and second-crop sires offered for sale. Among sires represented in this year's New Sire Showcase include Deputy Commander, Favorite Trick, Grand Slam, Open Forum, Pulpit, Smoke Glacken, Tale of the Cat, Touch Gold, Valid Expectations, and Wild Rush.

Bloodhorse.com will provide live, interactive coverage of the FTK sale. The live interactive coverage includes instantaneous posting of sale price and buyer (RNA price if not sold) and recalculates session totals as well as consignor, sire, and buyer averages after each horse is sold.
