(Edited news release)

Apprentice jockey Faith Schorr guided Jackie B Good to victory for owner/trainer Michael Thomas in the third race at Tampa Bay Downs April 28, giving the rider her first career victory.

Schorr, an 18-year-old native of Ohio, began her career at Laurel Park before moving her tack to Tampa Bay Downs, and says that she’s uncertain where she’ll go once the Oldsmar oval’s meet ends. “I either want to go to Colonial (Downs) or Presque Isle Downs,” she said.

Schorr went on to boot home another winner during the program with Seeking Affairs, a 5-year-old Seeking the Gold gelding under the care of trainer Darin Lamourex for owner Pamela Mattox.
