I Want Revenge worked four furlongs April 28 at Churchill Downs.

Wood Memorial (gr. I) winner I Want Revenge   zipped along the Churchill Downs main track April 28 as he worked a half-mile in a bullet :47 1/5 in preparation for the May 2 Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (gr. I). The time was the fastest among 49 horses working that distance.

With jockey Joe Talamo aboard, the son of Stephen Got Even   sped through quick fractions of :11 2/5, :23 1/5, and :35 2/5, while galloping out five-eighths of a mile in 1:00 4/5.

Going to the track following the morning track maintenance break and just before a deluge of rain fell on the Louisville area, I Want Revenge was the only Derby contender working Tuesday.

Bred in Kentucky by David Lanzman, I Want Revenge is trained by Jeff Mullins for a partnership that includes Lanzman, IEAH Stables, Charles Winner, and Puglisi Racing.

Racing on artificial surfaces in Southern California, I Want Revenge broke his maiden in his fourth career start and was elevated into stakes company. In the CashCall Futurity (gr. I), he finished second to Pioneerof the Nile and then ran third in the Robert B. Lewis (gr. II), also won by Pioneerof the Nile. In his first start on a traditional dirt surface, I Want Revenge powered his way to victory in the Gotham (gr. II) at Aqueduct and followed with a troubled, come from off the pace triumph in the Wood Memorial as the 1-2 favorite.

I Want Revenge has won or placed in all eight career starts, including three wins, and has earned $816,000.

I Want Revenge is the first stakes winner produced from the Roy mare Meguial, who was purchased by Lanzman after her second-place finishes in the Argentine Oaks (Arg-I) and Argentine One Thousand Guineas (Arg-I).
