Dave Goldman, a Florida advertising executive and a former director of marketing for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co., died April 23 in Ocala, Fla. He was 76.
Goldman held a variety of marketing, advertising, and publicity positions in the Sunshine State over the years, working for Calder Race Course, Hialeah Park, Tropical Park, and Florida Downs. He also operated Florida Thoroughbred Advertising, and his clients included Farnsworth Farms and many other well-known Thoroughbred operations.
In addition, Goldman was a journalist. He was a contributor to The Thoroughbred Record and a columnist for the Daily Racing Form, Track Times, and Track Record.
Goldman was a Thoroughbred owner and breeder. He was a principal shareholder in Capricorn Farm, which bred 1989 Budweiser International Stakes (gr. IT) winner Caltech.
