(Edited press release)

For the second consecutive year, the Horse Racing Radio Network has reached an agreement with officials at Pimlico Race Course and the Maryland Jockey Club to become the exclusive national radio network for the Preakness Stakes (gr. I), the middle jewel of Thoroughbred racing’s Triple Crown.

HRRN will provide live coverage of the 134th Preakness May 16 from 5-7 p.m. (EDT). In addition to its national Preakness coverage, HRRN plans a two-hour live broadcast of the stakes races on the Preakness undercard from 2-4 p.m., and will provide live coverage of the Black Eyed Susan (gr. II) May 15 from 4-6 p.m. Mike Penna and Rolly Hoyt will anchor the HRRN coverage, with Jude Feld and Sean Clancy providing paddock reports and commentary.

In addition to the multiple HRRN affiliates throughout the country, fans will be able to hear the coverage worldwide with free live streaming provided on the HRRN website, www.horseracingradio.net. A complete listing of affiliates will be available on the HRRN site.

“Everyone at Pimlico takes a tremendous amount of pride in making Preakness week a top-notch event,” said Mike Gathagan, Maryland Jockey Club vice president of communications. “To be able to host an event of this magnitude means so much in so many ways, and HRRN's national coverage will allow racing fans from coast to coast to feel as if they are here for this marquee event."

In addition to the live race coverage, HRRN will also host its Saturday morning talk show, the Equine Forum, live from Pimlico on Preakness morning. The Equine Forum airs from 8-10 a.m.
