Bwana Charlie's First Winner

Grade II winner Bwana Charliesired his first winner from his initial starter when his daughter Malawi won April 10 at Keeneland. The Florida-bred filly won the 4 1/2-furlong race by four lengths in :52.03.

A homebred for Heiligbrodt Racing Stable, Malawi is out of the stakes-winning Gilded Timemare Malady and is a half-sister to stakes winner Dancin Olivia.

Bwana Charlie (Indian Charlie—Shahalo, by Halo) stands for $5,000 at Brent and Crystal Fernung’s Journeyman Stud near Ocala, Fla.
