West Point Thoroughbreds’ Justwhistledixie, winner of five consecutive races and a leading contender for the May 1 Kentucky Oaks (gr. I), worked a half-mile in :50.40 for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin the morning of April 10 at Keeneland.
“We were debating whether to go today and we just decided to do it because she was feeling so good,” said Neal McLaughlin, trainer Kiaran McLaughlin's brother and assistant. “She will likely be on a Friday schedule and work again on (April) 17."
Justwhistledixie scored her biggest victories in the March 3 Davona Dale Stakes (gr. II) and the March 27 Bonnie Miss Stakes (both gr. II) at Gulfstream Park. The daughter of Dixie Union was bred in Kentucky by Hermitage Farm.
