(Edited press release)
The International Federation of Horseracing Authorities executive council elected the chairman and three vice-chairmen for October 2009-October 2012 at a meeting in Paris March 31. The new appointees are as follows:
Louis Romanet, IFHA chairman; Alan Marzelli, IFHA vice chairman representing the United States and president and chief operation officer of The Jockey Club; Winfried Engelbrecht-Bresges, IFHA vice chairman representing Asia, chairman of the Asian Racing Federation, and CEO of the Hong Kong Jockey Club; and Brian Kavanagh IFHA vice chairman representing Europe and chief executive of Horse Racing Ireland.
“It is a great honor for me to have been elected for a new term of three years as chairman of IFHA,” said Romanet. “I am delighted that the three vice-chairmen have also been reelected. One of our priorities will be to restructure IFHA in order to strengthen it in a very difficult economic period for its members.”
