Snow Dance, who won or placed in a dozen graded turf stakes, was euthanized March 28 after undergoing colic surgery several days earlier. The 11-year-old daughter of Forest Wildcat was in foal to Street Cry  .

Snow Dance’s greatest success for owner John C. Oxley came as a 3-year-old. Snow Dance won the 2001 Mrs. Revere (gr. IIT) and Pucker Up (gr. IIIT) Stakes and the Lake Placid Handicap (gr. IIT). She placed in the Queen Elizabeth II Challenge Cup Stakes (gr. IT).

Snow Dance also captured the 2002 Suwannee River Handicap (gr. IIIT) and the 2003 New York Handicap (gr. IIT). Trained by John T. Ward Jr., she retired with eight wins and 10 placings from 25 starts and earnings of $938,597.

Oxley purchased Snow Dance for $220,000 at the 1999 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga select yearling sale from Taylor Made Sales Agency, agent. Snow Dance was bred in Kentucky by Aspiration Stable.

Snow Dance, out of the Spectacular Bid mare Northern Pageant, produced two named foals. Her first, the filly From Scratch, won twice in Japan at 3 last year. The other, 2-year-old Monarch Pass, is a colt by Monarchos  , who won the 2001 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) for Oxley.
