(Edited Tattersalls Ireland press release)
Tattersalls Ireland has moved the breeders flat sale from its traditional date in December to November this year. The auction, which had taken place the second week of December in previous years, will be held Nov. 14 and 15. It was felt that both vendors and purchasers would benefit from moving the sale, according to Tattersalls Ireland.
The auction will be limited to two days and will have breeding stock, foals, yearlings, and horses in training in its catalog. The sale will take place just after the November National Hunt auction, which will end Nov. 13.
"This is a good decision by Tattersalls Ireland,” said Joe Foley of Ballyhane Stud. “By moving the sale to the 14th and 15th (of) November, it will be the first opportunity for vendors to offer their breeding btock for sale at public auction in Ireland or the UK (United Kingdom) at a more opportune time.”
