Greg Avioli, deputy commissioner of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association, testified before the House Finance Committee Thursday afternoon during an oversight hearing on Internet gambling.
The hearing wasn't scheduled to discuss specific legislation. The pari-mutuel industry addressed the Judicial Committee last year on Internet gambling to educate members on how the industry works. An amendment to the Interstate Horseracing Act of 1978 later solidified the industry's position on account wagering.
Several organizations, including the American Gaming Association, will have representatives on hand Thursday to offer testimony.
