Four OBS March Horses Work in :20 2/5
Four horses tied for the fastest work at a quarter mile during the March 12 first session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Co. March select sale of 2-year-olds in training in Central Florida. The horses that covered the distance in :20 2/5 were: a Consolidator – Capacity filly named Attempt to Name, consigned by Welcome Gate Farm, agent; a Yonaguska – Chimera colt, consigned by Harris Training Center, agent; a Tale of the Cat –Crow Jane colt, consigned by Hoby and Layna Kight, agents; and a D'wildcat – Gloomy Knot colt, consigned by All In Sales, agent. Eight horses posted the fastest time at an eighth of a mile of :9 4/5. They included an El Corredor – Wish It Were colt, consigned by Excel Bloodstock; a Stormy Atlantic – Beauty Bug filly named Atlantic Beauty, consigned by Shamrock Stable, agent; a Wildcat Heir – Choobloo colt named Splendid Behavior, consigned by Journeyman Bloodstock, agent; and a Mr. Greeley – Clay’s Rocket filly, consigned by Jerry Bailey Sales Agency, agent. The others were a Johannesburg – Danceoftheflags filly, consigned by Leprechaun Racing, agent; a Wildcat Heir – Flo’s Z Fury filly, consigned by All In Sales, agent; a Macho Uno – Forbidden Kiss filly, consigned by Eddie Woods, agent; and a Forest Danger – Lady H colt, consigned by Nick de Meric. A Milwaukee Brew – Dream Affair colt led all workers at three furlongs with a time of :33 2/5. “It was a good day; the weather cooperated,” said Tom Ventura, the OBS general manager and director of sales. It was sunny, with a high temperature in the 80s and, “at most,” a light breeze, according to Ventura. The first session of the under tack show was for Hip Nos. 1-260 in the March sale catalog. The second session, scheduled for March 13 and starting at 9 a.m. (EDT), is for Hip Nos. 261-523. The auction will be held March 17-18, beginning at 11 a.m. (EDT) each day.
