Vertigineux, the dam of champion Zenyatta, has been pronounced in foal to Henrythenavigator, a British classic winner who entered stud this year at Ashford Stud near Versailles, Ky.

According to a release from Ashford, the 14-year-old daughter of Kris S. was scanned in foal on March 8. In addition to Zenyatta, the champion older mare of 2008, Vertigineux has also produced millionaire Balance.

According to Equineline, on Jan. 27 the mare produced a filly by Bernardini  .

Henrythenavigator, who stands for $65,000, won six of 11 career starts and earned more than $2.7 million. His victories included the group I English Two Thousand Guineas, Sussex Stakes, and St. James’s Palace Stakes. He was retired after finishing second to Raven's Pass in the 2008 Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I).

“We are delighted with the book of high class mares which ‘Henry’ has attracted and I am glad to report that he has taken extremely well to his new job,” said Ashford manager Dermot Ryan.
