Team Valor’s King of the Roxy, who was retired from racing last fall after developing a defect at the base of his cannon bone, will be returned to racing instead of entering stud. The 5-year-old horse is stationed at Hub and Kirsten Johnson’s Kesmarc, an equine sports medicine facility near Versailles, Ky.
King of the Roxy (Littleexpectations--Marrakesh, by Bold Forbes) won or placed in six of a dozen starts and earned $536,734. He captured the Futurity (gr. II) and Hutcheson (gr. II) Stakes (gr. II) and placed in three graded stakes.
King of the Roxy was bred in Ohio by Deborah D. Kopatz and was voted 2007 Ohio Horse of the Year.
