Wasserman Named WA Horse of the Year (Edited press release) Not only did Howard Belvoir train the versatile champion through a 2008 campaign in which he won four stakes, but the Kent-based conditioner also bred and owns the 7-year-old gelding by Cahill Road—Share the Knight, by Knights Choice. Wasserman, who was named to honor Seattle oncologist Dr. Peter Wasserman, has now accumulated in earnings $442,149. Belvoir was also honored with a special training achievement award. Other awards given at the dinner were as follows: La Tee, older filly Enumclaw Girl, 3-year-old Margo’s Gift, 3-year-old male Ladyledue, 2-year-old Noosa Beach, 2-year-old male Polo Bender, plater Hired Hand, most improved plater Exploded’s Girl, broodmare Matty G, sire Private Gold, freshman sire Kenny Mayne and Scott Hanson, Mark Kaufman Media Awards Tim McCanna, trainer Nina and Ron Hagan, breeders C.E. “Rich” and Ann Richardson, special breeders Dennis Dodge and Don Campbell, special achievement awards |
