Adrienne Sanders, a member of the Ocala, Fla. Thoroughbred community, died Feb. 9 in an auto accident. A native of Dublin, Ireland, Sanders moved to Marion County, Fla., in 1986 after living in Lexington.

A freelance bookkeeper, Sanders had been employed by a number of farms and Thoroughbred organizations. Among them were Classic Mile, the Florida Thoroughbred Farm Managers, and most recently by consignor Beth Bayer, who said, “I never thought of Adrienne as an employee. She was like my second mom.”

Sanders’ survivors include a brother and a sister.

Private services are to be held. Memorial contributions may be made to Caribbean Conservation, an organization devoted to protecting sea turtles at (800) 678-7853.
