Sunday Silence--Fanjica Colt Tops Japanese Sale's First Session The second-highest price of ¥112 million ($888,888) was brought by a Pilsudski--Elizabeth Rose colt, which also was consigned by Shadai Farm. The buyer was Takao Watanabe. The top-priced filly was a daughter of Mr. Greeley--Blue Avenue, which was bought by Makoto Kaneko for ¥72 million ($571,428). John Ferguson Bloodstock, representing Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al Maktoum, bought three foals, paying ¥87 million ($690,476) for a Sunday Silence--Diamond City colt; ¥70 million ($555,555) for a Sunday Silence--Shinko Beauty filly; and ¥40 million ($317,460) for a Warning--Arvola colt. The second and final session of the sale is scheduled for Tuesday at the Northern Horse Park on the Japanese island of Hokkaido. |
