The first reported foal for multiple Japanese grade I winner Utopia arrived Jan. 24 at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds.
The colt is the third foal from Devilish Sly, a full sister to multiple New York stakes winner So Sweet a Cat, and is owned by Mrs. Jane Freed.
Utopia, a Japanese-bred son of Forty Niner-Dream Vision, by Northern Taste, won nine of 34 starts, including four grade I stakesin Japan, and had converted earnings of $4.9 million. He also won the Godolphin Mile (UAE-II) and the grade III Westchester Stakes.
Utopia, who stands at McMahon of Saratoga Thoroughbreds, for $7,500 live foal, was bred to 132 mares his first season.
