The filly, from the first crop by grade II winner Half Ours, is out of Jonespartyofwon, who was a 2-year-old when bred to Half Ours. Jonespartyofwon, a half-sister to Breeders’ Cup Classic (gr. I) winner Volponi, was foaled April, 20, 2006.
The newborn filly was bred by Dr. William M. Hovis and Taylor Brothers Properties.
Jonespartyofwon was bred in Kentucky by Howis in a partnership that included Howard and Mary Lester.
Half Ours (Unbridled’s Song—Zing, by Storm Cat) stands at Taylor Made Farm near Nicholasville, Ky. His 2009 fee is $12,500.
Smarty Jones (Elusive Quality —I’ll Get Along, by Smile) won the 2004 Kentucky Derby (gr. I) and Preakness Stakes (gr. I) and finished a close second in the Belmont Stakes (gr. I). He was voted champion 3-year-old male. He stands at Robert N. Clay’s Three Chimneys Farm near Midway, Ky. His 2009 fee is private.
