The first foal by 2006 Hollywood Futurity (gr. I) winner Stormello was born Jan. 16 at Ramspring Farm near Frankfort, Ky.

Bred by Mary Leigh Patrick, the filly is out of the 10-year-old Southern Halo mare Strawberry Halo, a half-sister to Wimbledon, winner of the Louisiana Derby (gr. II).

"We could not ask for anything better," said Patrick, owner of Ramspring Farm. "She has good bone, good size, and we are very pleased."

A 5-year-old son of Stormy Atlantic  , Stormello was bred and raced by William Currin, who was also his trainer, and Alvin Eisman. Stormello stands at Dr. Tom Simon’s Vinery near Lexington, Ky.
