The stallion barn at Darley America hosts a dazzling quartet of young stallions who have all celebrated the birth of their first offspring in recent weeks.

First foals by Kentucky Derby (gr. I) winner Street Sense   and two by Discreet Cat   appeared on the same day, Jan. 9. A Street Sense filly out of the Iowa Oaks place-getter Home Court, by Storm Cat, was foaled at Gainesway Farm for her Canadian owner Gordon Stollery of AGS Thoroughbreds Ltd.

With Quiet American   as a broodmare sire, one of the pair of Discreet Cat’s first foals, a colt out of All In With Aces, has an even better chance of being successful for his owners that comprise Dreamchaser Thoroughbreds. He was born at Dr. Larry Caudill’s Patent Place Farm. Arriving that same day was a filly from Ling, foaled at Machmer Hall for breeder Carrie Brogden.

Hard Spun’s first foal arrived just this week, on Jan. 21 at Kildare Stud. The 130-pound chestnut colt is out of the multiple graded stakes winner Island Queen and has delighted his breeders Adrian Regan and Frankie O’Connor, so much so that Frankie commented: "If this is representative of what he is going to get, you guys are in good shape with Hard Spun  .’

Any Given Saturday  ’s first foal of 2009 was also a colt, bred by Colin Bryce. Out of the listed-winning Mt Livermore mare Bad Kitty, he was born Jan. 22 at Foxtale Farm.
