Mrs. Philip B. Hofmann's Gold Beauty posted her fourth consecutive win from as many starts when the 3-year-old daughter of Mr. Prospector won the Spring Valley Handicap at Keystone Racecourse at 1-5 odds on July 17, 1982. The filly raced the six furlongs in 1:09 4/5. With six wins from seven starts, Gold Beauty's only loss that season was in the Vosburgh Stakes in which she finished third at 3-5 odds but was moved up to second through disqualification. The champion sprinter of 1982, Gold Beauty went on to produce grade I winner Maplejinsky and English champion and sire Dayjur.
