French champion miler Librettist is relocating to France, the scene of his biggest victories, and will stand at Haras du Logis for the 2009 season. The 7-year-old son of Danzig formerly stood at Sheikh Mohammed’s Dalham Hall Stud in England.

Campaigned by Godolphin, founded by Sheikh Mohammed, Librettist won seven of his first eight starts, including the Prix du Moulin de Longchamp (Fr-I) and Europe's richest mile race, the Prix du Haras de Fresnay le Buffard-Jacques le Marois (Fr-I), at 4 in 2006. He defeated Manduro the three times they met. His fee will be €7,000, due October 1, special live foal.

Explaining the switch, Julian Ince of Haras du Logis said, “We're lucky enough to be standing Country Reel, also a son of Danzig, and he's proving enormously popular. His first crop of yearlings were so impressive at the sales; and now his first runner in Australia is the undefeated star filly Phenomenal Lass.”

Librettist, who is a half-brother to grade I winner Dubai Destination and is out of the Alleged mare Mysterial, stood his first two seasons at Dalham Hall Stud, where he covered 222 mares, including 66 stakes performers or producers. He joins King's Best as a new Darley stallion in France for 2009.
