Stardom Bound, the Bessemer Trust Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (gr. I) winner and likely the divisional champion, could make her 3-year-old debut in the $300,000 Las Virgenes Stakes (gr. I) at one mile on Feb. 7, new trainer Bobby Frankel said.

The $300,000 Santa Anita Oaks (gr. I) at 1 1/16 miles on March 7 is also being considered.

“I might run her back in the Las Virgenes,” Frankel said on New Year's Day. “She’s doing that good.”

Stardom Bound, trained by Christopher Paasch when she won the Juvenile Fillies, worked four furlongs on Pro-Ride Dec. 28 in :47 1/5. Stardom Bound won three grade I races as a juvenile.

The Tapit   filly was previously owned by Charle Cono. She was purchased for $5.7 million by IEAH Stables at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky selected fall mixed sale.

Frankel said that he will train Stardom Bound during her campaign at Santa Anita, while Rick Dutrow will take over when the filly moves to the East Coast

“She’s a nice filly to train,” Frankel said. “She does everything right. She’s just a good-feeling filly.”
